I hope I never see this guy's name again. He took over a month to pay and never sent his address via email. We only had chicken-scratch handwriting on the envelope to go by and it was questionable, so we couldn't send his package out. Where would it go if we weren't even sure of the address? Oblivion most likely.

We've been waiting for over a week just for this guy to send his address in a typed, readable form (6 weeks if you count when the auction ended). We just heard from him with the address--and a request to lie on the freaking customs form. I actually haven't been asked to lie on the form in a long time but it really ticks me off. And it's not even an expensive item.

Should I tell him NO or just ignore the request and pretend I didn't see it? Either way, this guy is going to pay the full duty.

He can neg me for all I care.

LC--you have the patience of a saint.

Ignore that request to lie on the custom form, send the freaking item and block them as a bidder.

There are no grounds to neg you, none.

Hi Loosecannon! Ugh, I know exactly what you're going through!

As far as the customs form, I would tell them NO I WILL NOT LIE ON A GOVERNMENT FORM - and let them know that all forms are filled out HONESTLY in the amount of their bid amount. Period. No exceptions. I don't care if this was for a $5.00 item or a $500.00 item. They know they have to pay duty on any item they bid on outside of Canada. (I'm guessing he's from Canada?)

I haven't had that request in a while... but when & if I do get that request again, that's going to be my answer!

Hello EG and jeanyu

Nice to "see" you again jeanyu.

No, he's from Germany, which really has nothing to do with it except that German is hard for me to read even when typed!

I always mark "gift" on customs forms. I hate the government. They screw us all the time, so I feel no moral or legal obligation to be honest with them. The best screw is when it's back and forth.

I can't see how you could get caught really, but I wouldn't want to take the chance just for a little "action". LOL!
