Has anyone else who sells books on eBay been getting their auctions cancelled for "adult" content even when there isn't any in the listing?
I listed some books (paperbacks) with the word "sleaze" in the listing title as I've done countless other times. No book contained, or IMPLIED it contained, subject matter that was unfit for general readers. (One book was a mystery geared for teens, fer cryin' out loud!)
The listing fascists at eBay somehow deemed that these rather pedestrian old books were better suited for the "mature audiences" category and cancelled my auctions.
These were books that even an old prude never would have mistaken for remotely pornographic. If they WERE porn, I would have listed them as such.
Has anyone else been having similar problems of late?

Well then - why do you have the word sleaze in your title? Sounds like your auctions should be cancel for spamming or false advertisement.

I had a novelty pen with a tiny picture of a naked lady where the bathing suit disappeared when you turned the pen upside down... My picture of the pen was taken from about a foot away, so the tiny little naked lady was all of 1/2 inch tall in the pic... I had placed it in collectibles:writing, but ebay deemed it lude and moved it to the adult category!!!! I see better tit shots on cable TV for crying out loud!!!! (and her legs were folded up, so there were no naughty bits, and even if they were, you would have to be a desperate 14 year old boy without a T.V., computer or JC Penny catalogue to get any jollies from it!) Sheesh!!!

Ebay pulled my "MAXIM" mens magazine because it said nude in the title (girl on cover was nude), but these mags are not rated X and can be bought by seven year olds.

As far as vintage paperbacks go, "sleaze" does not equal "porn". Many classic novels were repackaged during the 40s and 50s with slightly racy cover art. These, and other mildly enticing titles, are termed "sleaze". It's more or less a generic name for a genre of books, as many dealers of vintage paperbacks will tell you. Any collector of these would never liken them to any type of pornography.

EBAY uses a "Key Word" finder. Half.Com, which is owned by Ebay did the same thing to us. We described a book that had spine tilt as having a "Cocked spine" which is a book term. We could not enter it until we used the word "Tilted".

LOL - they pulled a cocked spine?????
COnsidering the fact that ebay is supposedly so sensitive to its world of users.... then they should take into consideration different usages of the English language around the world as well... Cocked is common English (ie ENgland) usage... They must be using halfwit.com to find these words! Either that or they are hiring Puritans at HQ!!!!
And on the 7th day, ebay sayeth thou dost not allow cocked...
