Well, first off I would like to say that I like PAYPAL. I've not had problems with them and I find my customers like to pay with their credit card AND I like getting paid quickly.

I do have one issue with them and was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Within the past 10 days, two of my international customers had problems finalizing their payment with PAYPAL. One customer (actually it happened to both) continuously tried to sign up with paypal and finally just emailed me and said they were giving up! THey could not register with PAYPAL with their VISA credit card (they were both international customers).

Rather than making them sending me payment via certified or registered mail, I suggested we try a BILLPOINT invoice. In both cases, I got an email almost immediately stating that the transaction went through without a hitch!

Anyone else experiencing this with international customers and PAYPAL?

I can't accept PayPal international payments, either. I originally had my defaults set up to not accept internationals, but I am willing to consider it if a bidder asks me in advance--however, the program will not update when I try to change my preferences. My preferences say I will accept international payments, but my bidders get frozen out. I told Damon this quite some time ago, and he checked into it and thought it was a "glitch," but it has never been resolved.

Those same customers have paid without problem through Billpoint and BidPay.

Billpoint has few if any security measures in place for international or domestic payments, even for U.S. buyers they will pass along an address that doesn't match the card. PayPal on the other hand is fairly @nal about that sort of thing which unfortunately will hamper some legit transactions. Billpoint is good if you REALLY trust the buyer.

I found the security features in Paypal very comforting when I signed up. Am now an International verified user. I guess some folks think that it is a 5 minute sign up.
