It has almost become taboo for most of us. You put up an item, thinking you can pull down a few bucks, probably fifty, you think to yourself. Then you watch massive bidder war occur before your eyes. The time when it actually becomes fun to sell, you've made more than thought you ever could! You look in awe in at the bidder, then to his zero feedback. He'll pay, he fought to hard. You send him an email, the usual, send to this address yadda yadda. Next day,
Hello.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I am unable to complete the
transaction at this time. Please pass any information concerning the selling
item to the next highest bidder. Once again, I apologize for any
inconvenience.

Many of you might say, "just sell it again or offer to the next bidder like he mentioned", but the fact is with this and many items, sometimes you just hit the market at the perfect time, no one else is selling it or thought to, but after seeing my success they're looking to sell their items, essentially flooding the market making prices cheaper--so the next bidder would of course not wish to pay such a high price. So basically, I'm screwed. I hit the jackpot only to have it taken from my grasp.
I've had several emails with this bidder who still refuses to pay, and I can almost hear him laughing from his desk at me, knowing beyond a non-paying bidder alert for his zero feedback name there is absolutely nothing I can do. <br<br>Here is what I want, revenge. No not some mail bomb I'm not psychotic, just something to settle the score. Here is what I don't want: there's nothing you can do, be the better man, don't allow bidders with zero feedback, bla bla bla. Fact is I've done all that (except zero feedback, it's a pain to rule out a whole group of people but I do know I took a risk) and I already know I'm the better man. I'm going to stop pretending to be some chivalrous seller, I'm just an honest one who is sick of this. Sick of all the idiots that ruin ebay, and I'm not going to take this anymore.

This may not be a popular topic, but If one person answers I'll be happy. All I ask is for a cure, for my wanton need of revenge. Help me win one for the honest sellers. I know what there are ways to do this, the internet is a lovely place.

A few months ago I read what one frustrated Ebay seller did to a bidder who backed out like yours did. Apparently he pulled the persons contact info and after he verified it was correct, he did the following. He went down to the public library and thumbed through a couple of hundred magazines taking out the subscription slips. He then filled each one out in the bidders name/address and sent them in. I would bet the bidder had a bad year trying to deal with hundreds of magazines contacting him for payment. Naturally I assume the original poster never actually followed through and sent the subscription slips in.....as he probably just posted the idea as a sort of fantasy.

After all it never hurts to have afew fantasy's.

Do not sweat the small stuff its not worth it.

Though I know how you feel its a fact of life in any business all you can do is move along and forget about it.

WELL I TOO HAVE HAD ENOUGH.
SO IN MY DETAILS ON EBAY I WARN NON-PAYERS
THAT I WILL RETALIATE WITH NOT JUST A NON-PAYING BIDDER ALERT,BUT ALSO BIDS ON THEIR AUCTIONS IF ANY IN THE FUTURE.
IT SEEMS NON-PAYERS ARE BASICALLY ONES WITH RATINGS BELOW 100.

Mesell, NPBA the person, file for FVF and this may get them booted off eBay!
Also send a letter to safe harbor and see what happens. (Probably not too much, but it is worth it) And it is working with the system, and might just work.

Other than that--sign them up for all the rediculous sites, via their email-that you have the time for. Spam em to drooling slobbering dementia

Hello folks,

Please do not give advice if the advice is to do something illegal.

Thanks everyone,

Check the date they signed up at ebay. Is it a few years ago and they're just now bidding? Many of the sellers in the cafe have several id's and don't like competition. Believe me I know and if you research enough and know some people you can find out! I can't tell you how to respond, that choice is yours!

The link to the previous thread mentioned above. Lots of good, (nearly) harmless ideas.

Just for the record, though, I never did follow through on any of them. Sometimes it's enough to just entertain the thought.

I apologize for the posters who gave you the typical "file an NPB" BS. That is so lame,, especially considering what you are REALLY asking.

I like the magazine subscription bit. I'd do it---FOR REAL, not just a "fantasy". Also, do investigate to see if there is any bidding pattern with this person indiccating that they in fact sell on Ebay---and if they do? Heaven help them. The most vulnerable deadbeats on Ebay are the ones dumb enough to burn others while they themselves are holding auctions. Create another ID and work their auctions very discreetly so it's not obvious it's a revenge issue. Yes, it is against Ebay's rules, but so what. People who turn the other cheek often have 2 red cheeks.

Burn them 5X as much as they burned you.

THAT is revenge.

Good Luck, mesell.

This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

Geez way more responses than I would have expected, should've have thought about it more I know I'm not even close to alone here. Lots of great ideas for non-harmful revenge. I especially like the mailing list one. Simple and very easy. Though of course I would never do such things...

Hello,

The mailing list idea is illegal and discussion of illegal activity to solve your business woes at Ebay is not the purpose of this forum.

I'm locking this thread.

imabrit no offense but like I said the, "don't sweat the small stuff", type of lines aren't what I'm looking for. Your right. But just because your right doesn't mean I can't at least be humored here, it's really not a matter of money to me, more the fact that this jerk took the joy of selling right out of me. Like I said those glorious moments when you see that your auction has gone FAR higher than you expected are what I love about selling, and for someone to crush that with just a few sentences really gets me going. Maybe a better man could overlook this, but a better man knows when to try and precedent, instead of simply taking such abuse. I know I know I'm ranting but it's therapudic.
