What do you think of Gallery Preview?
Is it worth the 25 cents?

Is it worth the 25 cents?

I don't use the gallery previews as a buyer or seller.

That would be a "No" from me. I'm curious what the other responses will be.

I was wondering that myself earlier when I was listing in the men's section. Do they use it? us *grls* do I think, ecspecially in the shoes and clothes, to preview. So I use it a lot, to look and to sell. So. Do guys?

i use it on a small percentage of my items. i have 1 with the gallery currently, 2 last week, 3 the week before that. i use it for items that i think might catch someones eye that may not normally do a search for that item. i guess i am hoping a browser of the pics may say "hey thats sweet i have to have it"they are usually college sports related items or unique items.......i guess i will never really know if it is drawing viewers but i could do a survey of all bidders to see if they bid because they saw it in the gallery, but i am too damn lazy and don't really care to know that bad....................as a buyer i rarely look at the gallery unless i am looking at art

Hi:
I never list anything without it! And when I'm buying they are the first I look at. Worth a Quarter? Sure it is!

Yes! It's my favorite way to shop, and I always use it when I sell.

I use it on "some" items, and others I don't.
I think "some" buyers prefer to shop via the Gallery listings, and for more unique/valuable items it's well worth the 2 bits.

YES, ALWAYS, with every auction, and I make a Picture Gallery link from my auctions to them.
I have asked my buyers and they say they shop my gallery because its so easy to see everything I have to offer without clicking onto each one. In other words THEY LIKE IT!

When I'm shopping I am ALWAYS drawn to the ones pictured versues the ones not.

To me it is well worth the quarter spent.

If I research an unfamiliar category, and, thanks to ebay's new "consolidating", it contains massive listings, with very generalised titles, e.g "Old cast iron match-holder, must see"...you bet I appreciate the gallery feature, rather than wade through opening 35 pages to find the color, feature, or manufacturer I'm looking for!
(Sometimes the seller doesn't know the "characteristics" too well, and it won't turn up in description search.)

The same applies, especially, in such categories as Pottery and Glass, where one is seeking to identify a certain pattern for whatever reason, and, e.g."floral pattern " turns up 495 items, but if there's a gallery picture, you can open that listing and discover the pattern's name from the description.
This is helpful to uncertain buyers also..as sometimes they spot something unfamiliar, liked it, and want to find like-items again.

Occasionally titles assume one knows the "code" abbreviations necessary to get in the title character-limit, and a gallery image, again, can provide time-saving information.

I, personally, don't use gallery much:
On items opening under $5.00
When title really does say it all !
If I'm listing a fairly common widget, but in 2 categories.
Relisting/re-submitting. Didn't get many hits first time.
I'm broke! ( And want to list more stuff for less fees.)

Never: Thumbnail is too small, confusing, indistinct to distinguish item.

Recently I've come to appreciate the gallery/thumbnail images left near the title on completed auction pages; when the seller has deleted her/his images from the main description.

Mostly...depends on what one's selling!

I think most rookie buyers like the gallery feature.

The more experienced users go straight for what they want.

In the end $.25 cents is a small investment if you get more hits.
