I have a couple of moderately expensive items I'd like to list but want to be sure that sales are moving along, not caught in the summer doldrums. Would appreciate hearing from any of you that have ideas or opinions...

I am waiting untill the middle of september , Really good items I would hold untill mid to late october.
IT seems like every year we expect sales to pick up right after labor day but in reality it takes a week or two.

This is a great time to buy on ebay I can't beleive the prices I'm getting things for I am stocking up and will sell these items in a few weeks for 2to 3x what I am buying them for now.
spock here......

Last week no auctions hit the reserve for us and this week, none so far. I think that people are buying back to school gear and may not be in an online auction mode. If nothing hits this week, I don't think I will have any auctions for a few weeks.

Also last minute vacations. I hope things will pick up after labor day. My prices are low enough, can't afford anymore.

The one item I always sell with a reserve failed to meet reserve in the last two weeks. Overall bidding amount was low prior to that but then it dropped below the reserve amount. Other items have been doing well enough not to adjust anything in the listings on them.

It depends what you sell.

I'm having no problem getting bids, with some of this weeks items going for FAR more than I would have ever dreamed possible.

There are categories where it doesn't matter when you list the item, if it's a good piece, it WILL get plenty of action.

Trust me.

If the fish aren't biting you are either fishing in the wrong spot or using the wrong bait.

My sales have picked up some - first week in August was great. I think the tax rebate checks have made this a bit better August than normal. Not so many NPB. I sell new womens clothing. I agree the middle of September should be the start of the better sales.

not onemach two on ebay

My sales have been pretty good lately but I only sell part-time. I've got a bundle of stuff (predominately clothes and diecast toys) that I'm saving until late September early October.

Sales were good at the beginning of the month but last week wasn't good for us. We decided it was an great opportunity for us to take a break and prepare for the fall.
