Back in June some folks were predicting another Free Listing Day...I think around the end of August? Does anyone have any feelings about this now, based on auction listing counts, signs of the moon, or tea-leaves?
I am wondering if I should spend time next week getting some stuff ready, but can't remember if it was going to be the end of Sept instead [based on some sort of quarterly reports?]
thanks -

I would think if it was the end of June, then the next would be end of September. Folks were saying they did it to increased the number of active auctions to coincide with their Quarterly stock reports.
Therefore, if they need to do the same, their next quarter ends end of September.

Yup, maybe one will happen near quarter end at the end of September. This quarters listing #s and sales must have been pathetic. One bad quarter after a string of picture perfect quarters and Wall Street will punish eBay's stock!

The last couple years ebay had FLD the end of August. It is a very slow time.

Canada just had a FLD. But only if you were selling in canadian$$. It would be nice for the US to have one, too.

If I remember correctly, I think Canada had a FLD in June, and a couple of weeks later, there was a FLD for us in the US.
Since Canada just had another FLD, maybe we are due for one pretty soon too?

I just checked my invoice for August and Sept 2000...there was no Ebay free listing day at that time (I have never missed a free listing day).
GoTo auctions had several free listing days in 2000.
Ebay had the free listing day in Dec 2000
Billpoint had a couple of free listing days but I think they were in 1999 or early 2000

I don't think anyone was referring to last year's FLD's. Some were predicting another FLD *this* year back in June after we just had June's FLD....

Out of 10 unique posters (not counting me), 3 mentioned "last year"....30% of the posters mentioning it isn't "not anyone"
Maybe not everyone was talking about the year 2000 but some where

As expected.
Guess I should have s-p-e-l-l-e-d it out a little better and clearer.
I don't think the ORIGINAL POSTER was referring to last year's FLD's.
I guess when one person gets off track some others seems to feel they must follow.

Yes you should S-P-E-L-L it out more clearly.
If you mean
"I don't think the ORIGINAL POSTER was referring to last year's FLD's"
Then don't say
"I don't think anyone was referring to last year's FLD's. Some were predicting another FLD *this* year back in June after we just had June's FLD....
A little clarity in writing helps the reader to interpret what is being said without having to resort to a crystal ball or mind reading.

My guess is the NEXT Free Listing day will be about 5 days before Christmas. At least that is how it has gone the Last couple of years, one at the start of Summer and one right before Christmas. ...Oh by the way, I Kind of like the "Feud" between "Exec Girl" and "Amy".
