We use it a lot on items that we produce as
I know exacty what I want out of them.
For better items I let the auctions run.
(you never know on some things!)
If you have numerous items (i.e. a never ending supply)all the same it is great.
For a one-of-a-kind auction, bad.
Very bad.
As long as it's free, we'll continue to use BIN.
ebay starts charging and we're done.

Pretty much ditto what soldat2 posted.
I also use BIN for relists more than first run auctions. Also, if there's 20 of something I have on eBay, I'll use BIN instead of auction format and it works well.
The only instance in which I'd pay for it (and then only a trifling amount) would be to extend my holiday listings a bit.

If and when eBay starts charging for it, I might stop using eBay. eBay is making a bundle from it because it works. Almost 50% of what I move goes this way. People want stuff and this lets them transact business fast. It helps make eBay competitive.

90% of my auctions are BIN and I like it. I also like to see the auctions go higher and higher so that is why they 10%. I sell BIN because I know what the item is worth, sell it. Most use paypal and my auctions are done, mailed and completed in approximately 4 days. Sooner sometimes. Inventory does not sit around, but my room is still a ebay room...

Here's what I'm doing right now(on items I think there might be more than one bidder on)....I first list without BIN....if it doesn't sell I relist at a little lower starting bid with the BIN feature...I've been suprised at how many jump on it then...

I'm doing something similar to "mssells", but
without the extra step (relisting). I know
what I paid for any given item (including
tax, etc.) I list for that plus my
anticipated fees and add a BIN price that is
below what others sell the same item at. So
far its worked. My first 3 sales on eBay
(I'm new here) have been BIN!
If they start charging for BIN it won't make
me happy, but I can always add that fee in
to the total list price as well. I just
don't understand why (except for gree) that
they would do so. It helps make sales end
quicker, and usually at a higher than initial
listing price so they make more money now.
Right? Anyway, their site...their rules.
