I've ran Ad-Aware & no such bug shows up.
Where are you seeing it?

running internet clean up. it caught it. the only way to get rid of it is to go to doubleclick and opt out. doubleclick sponsers websites and places this bug on the site and tracks your surfing habits.

pwolf: "These sites aren't making near the revenue they used to make from advertising, in part, because of ad blocking"

True, and I sympathize, but only to a degree. There wouldn't be so much ad blocking if marketers weren't getting ever more annoying, and the numerous AW "pop" ad threads seem to be a good example. The fact direct marketers keep trying to get around blocking does not improve the opinion among those who have bothered to block them in the first place. As you're probably aware, it's something of a "cold war," strategy and counter-strategy, escalation of both means of blocking and getting around blocking, and has been for years, even more so after DoubleClick struck a lot of nerves early last year.

Show me a nice ad with no animatation, no cookies, and no other sign of high-level tracking, and I still am likely to click. Otherwise, I'm likely to toss the advertiser in my HOSTS file, preventing my computer from ever contacting their IP again. Scripting stays off at 98% of sites as well (cuts all the "pop" ads as well as other, more minor annoyances).

----
What's being done in the name of direct marketing nowadays is crazy.
The above are all just my opinions, except where I cite facts as such.
Oh, I am not dc9a320 anywhere except AW. Any others are not me.
Is eBay is changing from a world bazaar into a bizarre world?

I will read an ad if it stands still and it something of interest and often have. POP Ups only make me stay away from the web sites which use them and cause me to curse and offer to tell them where they may install those pop ups.
