I listed two items (against my better judgement) for a friend. Advised her they would NOT get to the reserve price, so would not sell. She insisted. I listed them the day after I promised I would (broke my promise I guess) One item SUDDENLY jumped to within $5.00 of reserve, after I had a "real" bidder. Got curious, checked bid history, saw that NEWBIE who joined the day I was supposed to list is the one pumping it up....SHILL???? I know, I cant do much about it cause I cant prove it, but what would you say, if anything to the friend? It aint gonna get there, I researched completed and active, and the highest it gets is around 35.00 She wants 40....

We listed an item for a 'friend' once who also bid up their own item! I less than politely told them that was not a good idea as anyone could pull the info and find out we are almost across the street from each other.
I no longer list anything for them but I really don't care. I don't need that problem!
Nobody does.
>I know, I cant do much about it cause I cant prove it<
Got guts? Pull the contact info and see who it is. That should prove it one way or the other.

I'd cancel ALL bids and end the auction early.
They aren't your "Friend" if they'd pressure you to list something that you'd rather not list in the first place... and they definitely are not your "friend" if they're risking YOUR account by SHILLING it with bids.

yah, you're both right...I am going to see if I can get contact info (can you do that before the item ends?) and If I suspect anything fishy (I already do) I will end it early. Thanks!
