Buying insurance with u-pic is fast and easy. The claim process is as painless as possible and a lot more user friendly than USPS.

I had 1 claim with USPS and 3 with U-PIC. While both were paid, I had to go to the main USPS office, fill out forms and wait for 8 weeks. With U-PIC, they included the forms with my packet on sign-up, and sent a check in a timely fashion. I would recommend them very highly.

Plus, you don't have to stand in line to get insurance on packages. Teamed with Endicia, I save 5 hours per week of postal business.

buddhafinder: Thanks for the real-world experience instead of just speculation and boosterism.

Anyone else have experience acutally collecting on a claim with u-pic?

Hello everyone,
We do not currently have t-shirts available but I have pens and letter openers.

Any U-PIC account holders want to e-mail me your address, I would be happy to send out one of each

Have a great weekend

Sounds like the answer to my problems: is u-pic offered to Canadian sellers?

YES -
We consider Canada domestic and we do insure shipments originating in Canada. We also cover both loss or damage.

Our Canada Post rate is the same as our USPS rate. Depending on your volume it is between 40 and 80% less than the post office rate.

One of the things I sell (and insure) is collectibles, specifically paper money - I think I read at your site this is not able to be insured. Is this still true? If I can insure that with you, I definitely would use your service instead of the USPS, and spend less time at the post office!

I suppose you could call me a u-pic booster but that's only because I've found their service to be acceptable. I have filed a claim with u-pic and it was not nearly as painful as the claim I filed with the USPS. I've saved a lot of time & money using their service.
However, u-pic has never said they'd be free for life, u-pic never sends me email that says "xx has sent you insurance" and they only pass out free letter openers & pens.

We DO insure collectible monies, providing there is no current currency rate. For example, while the State quarters are collectible, they can also be used as quarters today so we would NOT insure that.

However, all collectible monies and coins are insurable through us at the same rates as all other commodities.

Thanks

Hi Candi,

The problem is that most US currency is valid, from 1863 on. For example, I just sold a $1 1896 Educational Series Silver Certificate for $90 - Even though this sold for $90 and I insured through the USPS, I could still go to 7-11 and use this bill for a $1 purchase. It is still valid, as are a lot of US (and Canadian) banknotes from the past 100+ years. Could this note be insured with your company?

Thanks,

Yes, we can insure those. Our underwriter said that was fine but your high value per package would be capped at $500.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thanks,
