Some books defintely do better on eBay than half. Older books that do not have an ISBN, books that never made it into half's system, and anything unique: signed first editions for example. Books in real demand can do very well on eBay.
The main issue with half is that your book is placed side by side with anyone else who is offering a copy. This can place some downward price pressure as people seem to gravitate directly to the lowest price unless they want a copy as a gift.

I've been selling books on eBay for the last year and a half and I'm satisfied with the results.
I haven't looked into the fixed price sites in a long time, but from what I recall they had some pretty restrictive policies that I didn't like. I prefer the freedom to set my own policies that the auction format gives me.
I've sold both fiction and non-fiction, modern day and vintage.
