Help!!

I've decided to goto PayPal, Money Orders only, went thru & changed everying in AW. Well tonite, I list some auctions, sure enough there was BILLPOINT & the really funny thing is, when I go into REVISE the auction to get BP out, it won't let me, locks up.. SIGH is there some PREFERENCE tab somewhere on Ebay or BP that I'm not finding?? Pulling my hair out here, I don't want BP anymore..

Try using netscape and revise your auctions, you will not get that error msg. We removed Billpoint today also from all of our future listings, they would not raise the $20,000 a month limit and we we always maxed out. PayPal, here we go.

20K? a month.. Wow I can only dream, my best month so far was 3K.

Thanks for the reply, how do I REMOVE IT FROM ALL FUTURE listings?? I'm pretty sure I have it shut off in AMPRO but it still showed up over at EBAY?? Is there something I have to do at Ebay or BillPoint??

THANKS

CLOSING my BILLPOINT account is the only way to prevent it from showing up??? I was thinking I could keep BillPoint for some INTERNATIONAL sales if I needed it???

There should be a preference when you are launching your auctions that you just uncheck where it says under Billpoint "Mastercard/Visa" and "ECheck" or something to that effect. They (eBay) changed the preferences a few weeks or so back making it default for anyone registered with Billpoint to accept it. I use the PayPal preferred plan where I am only supposed to advertise PayPal as the online paying source...and there I was showing Billpoint ad's and I wasn't sure how it was happening. I got an email from PayPal telling me they noticed too...and I had to figure out how to get rid of it. Now I make sure that it's NOT checked. If you relist through Vrane there is a box to check that says "Check here if you do NOT accept Billpoint". You can't be forced to take Billpoint, yet, so there has to be a way for you to 'uncheck' the preferences.

I will take it if I have too...but I really prefer PayPal. Billpoint takes up to a week to deposit into my account...If someone pays me online with PayPal I have the moneyrightnow. Just a personal preference.

Hmm my problem being I use AMPROM w/ AW to list my auctions, so I am not manually there to "uncheck the boxes"..

Yes I am going for the PP prefered plan also, I hadn't signed up for it, but for some reason they started giving me Credits, so I decided this was the way to go. (Especially after BP cost me overdrafted my account $50 back in June, on 2 refunds that should ahve been posted to my Credit card & not my Checking account..argghh). One nice thing is my account is w/ Wells Fargo, so I get my money in my account in 1-2 days after I get the order. However forget about Wells Fargo ever reversing an overdraft fee.

Their Customer Service reps, don't have that power & neither do any supervisors on duty either. I went round & round w/ them on 2 separate occassions last fall. So when the BP transactions hit my account & cost 2 $25 OverDraft fees, that was all it took for me to advertise them anymore.

Of course then I took the summer off from auctioning, so I'm just now getting around to all this...

Sigh.. Looks like the only thing I can do is close my BP account all together.. Anyone know how to do that???? The site isn't very helpful...

jfh2662: In order to REset your preferences regarding Billpoint to NOT be included in your listings, you will need to go into the Sell Your Item page at eBay and manually list something....

When you manually list the item, you'll need to click on that "Remember my Preferences" button at the top of the Sell Your Item Form... and then as you go down the page during the listing process, pay careful attention to all of the "choices" that have the little thumb-tac icon beside them (INCLUDING THE BILLPOINT OPTIONS)... if you do NOT want Billpoint offered in any of your listings and you do not want the Billpoint payment options slipped in there after the Review portion of the listing process, you should make sure that the Billpoint options are NOT checked. (so if they are already checked, you'd need to UNcheck them).

This SHOULD prevent the Billpoint logos from appearing in your future listings... unless or until you "OPT" to have them appear (even once) - or if eBay accidently sets your preferences back to "yes" etc.....

Always check the REMEMBER MY PREFERENCES... and if at any time you begin to notice that options you do NOT wish to have appear in your listings.... you need to go back to the Sell Your Item form on eBay and Manually RESET them again during the Listing Process.

The OTHER option for making sure that the Billpoint Logo does not appear in your listings (and this seems to be what many folks are doing.... probably because they don't know about the need to set their preferences manually regarding BillPoint in order to keep the Billpoint options out of their listings when they do not wish to offer it) is to UNREGISTER with BillPoint.

But changing the preferences on the sell your item form seems to take care of the problem AND still leaves the door open in the event you have a buyer that requests to use Billpoint, or in the event you ever have problems with your other OnLine Payment Service Provider(s).

GOOD LUCK to you.

- Dottie

Thanks Dottie,

I figured there was some trick that I wasn't thinking of. Sigh, I should have slept tonite, going to work in 1 hour on no sleep. Oh well, don't really need sleep to sit around on the phone all day anyways.
