Hi. I currently use ProPay to accept credit cards. Today, I found out about 2checkout. It seems they accept more credit cards and have a built in shopping cart, like CCnow. But they only charge $0.45 plus 5.5% of the transaction. Only thing I'm afraid of is that instead of my name appearing on the buyer's credit card statement, it is 2checkout. With ProPay.com it is my name.

Do you think there will be an increased possibility of a chargeback if I use 2checkout? The buyer could think "Oh, what is this charge? I didn't make this purchase!"

I use Propay on my website also, the fees aren't even close to 5%, why would you want to pay that? I love Propay, I just wish they would release the money a little sooner.

I am thinking the added convenience of a shopping cart submitting the credit cards details for me saves me a lot of time. It will cost a little more, but I think it is worth it. With ProPay, the take home for a $25 purchase is $23.78 while it is $23.17 for 2checkout. That is about $.60 more per transaction.

My only concern is the 2checkout's name will appears on the buyer's credit card statement and whether this will increase chargebacks.

My website already has a shopping cart, instead of linking with one of the major processors I set it up as a Credit Card with Simple Validation. All I have to do is go retrieve the numbers off my secure server and process them myself. I also bought an extra module for my cart that has a pull down payment menu where they can choose Paypal, they get a total and are redirected to Paypal where the invoice is all filled out and they click pay and it is done. I love my webhoster and all the good stuff that comes with my commerce account.

I also use a shopping cart service called Mal's eCommerce. The features you are utilizing with your webhost is currently free with this service.

So, how long does it take you to retrieve the details and plug them into ProPay?

I use www.valueweb.com My webhosting service cost me $49.95 a month, the setup fee was a little high, but no big deal. I also got my Equifax secure certificate from them for $149.95 (those are really high on their own) I have Miva Merchant shopping cart free, which usually costs about $500 alone. You can also get a merchant account with card service international for a $99 setup fee. I haven't done that yet since my site is only bringing in about $1000 a month.

I get an email notification of orders placed in about 2-3 minutes, I then go into my shop menu and get the credit card number and process that amount. If you want to email me at [email protected] I will send you my url and you can mess around with my cart and see what you think. (I haven't bought the inventory control module yet, it makes for some confusion to some people when ordering, but works well so far) Heather
