I have a Mister Lister collection of Halloween wigs all ready to go. When do you folks think would be the best time to start selling them for maximum bids?
Thanks!

The stores are bringing their Haloween stuff out right now and people are buying. I would say with the extra time needed for shipping that now would be a good time to start.

Not sure if this will help or not, but I recently listed some girls halloween accessories (not costumes, just clothing), and they sold BIN within a hour or two of listing them. I was quite happy! Maybe people start earlier now, since the stores put the Halloween stuff in during back to school time (scary as that is - why not just put the Christmas stuff in now?).

I agree. Start now. I had a load of halloween costumes last year that I waited until Oct. 1 to start selling. I ended up giving 30 of the 48 to the children's hospital for their halloween parade.

Of course, in the end, that may have been a better disposition of them since I wasn't making any money on them on eBay.

That was actually a nice story, I had told the ladies at the hospital that I had "some costumes" to donate to them ... they almost came unglued when I came in with a hand truck carrying 3 cases of costumes. It's the little things.

kckckc,

I was at the mall the other day and saw that Sears is already setting up their Christmas trees.

It gets earlier every year. I'll be startng my christmas stuff as soon as I hear the christmas carols playing in the garden section of Walmart.

I just listed an outfit on Yahoo and got a bid immediately. The only reason I didn't use a BIN is because I'll be out of town part of the time the auction is running.

I agree, now is the time to unload all of those witch books and scary story books, and any other Halloween stuff you have. I had an auction end last week for that stuff that went for twice what I thought it would. NOW!

I am going to dig in my "decoration" box and see if there is some more junk I can pass on

Do you put Halloween in the title-is that what the buyers search?

I've been selling my handmade Halloween decorations since August and have been making good sales. I would definitely recommend getting them listed during the first 2 weeks of September, allowing plenty of time for payment to be made and the items to be shipped and received before Halloween.

Thanks for all your input. I put them up last night. I didn't think to put Halloween in the subject line, but did put 'costume wig' and some idea of what kind of costume, like 'black cat' or 'Elvira', whatever seemed to fit the wig.

Thanks again!
