if I have a BAAAD feeling about the winning bidder? this guy won an item from me a week ago, no payment yet, wins another one of my stuff, but this time he hasnt responded to any of my EOA emails. SO I checked what else he is bidding and he won over 50 items adn he is 0 with a shade! That smells trouble for me. I want to contact the 2nd bidder BUT if I contact him thru ebays, at the bottom of my letter, there will be that statement "if a seller tries to contact you to sell things of the net that is a no no" stuff, and I dont want to get into trouble if the 2nd bidder contacts ebays, even though I think ebays say its OK to contact the 2nd bidder. It is a bit of a catch-22. So could I contact the 2nd bidder or just forget about it? What do you guys think?

Dear Ironking, we are talking seven days here. Sometimes I hear from my bidders, via email, sometimes the payment just comes through the mail.
Don't get hasty here. Give your high bidder the benefit of the doubt. When you sent that second EOA, did you mention that they had won two of your items? Did you mention that two items won would reduce postage? My goodness, work with your buyers! Treat them like special company, after all, that is what they are.
Of course how you treat your high bidders and how I treat my high bidders may be worlds apart. JMHO

Here is my experience.
I had a doll that had a reserve on it and the highest bidder was $1.00 under the reserve. Well, I emailed her to let her know that I would sell it to her for her bid price if she wanted. She emailed me back ans stated that yes, she would buy it.
Well, the next day I got a warning from Ebay about it.
Needless to say, I was very angry but, fortunately I got over it as I feel there are more decent people than difficult to deal with on Ebay.

over the last month or so ebay has changed there policies about this matter.
it is now ok to contact the second high bidder of an auction with a dead beat and it is ok to contact the high bidder if your reserve is not met.. http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

Hello xxxxxx,
Thank you for writing Power Seller Support.
It sounds like you are referring to the new Personal Offer feature. To
make a Personal Offer, go to the item page for your completed listing,
click on the "Personal Offer" link, and follow the instructions that
appear.
Note: This link will be visible only for successful transactions where
there is at least one under bidder.
Personal Offers must be created at least 7 and no more than 60 days
after the end of auction. Please be sure that everything has been done
to resolve the issues with the high bidder before you send a Personal
Offer. See the Non-Paying Bidder program for details.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/npb.html
The Personal Offer enhances your selling success. In cases where a
winning bidder is unable to complete a purchase, the Personal Offer
provides you with another opportunity to sell the item. There is no
listing fee associated with Personal Offers.
Importantly, items sold via the Personal Offer are eligible for all eBay
services like Feedback and the Fraud Protection Program.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to address your concerns. Have
a pleasant day and thank you for making eBay part of it.
