OK -- I've got a lot of packets of fabric dye in different colors. I don't know the best way to market these items.
I think the kind of customers who would buy these items are fabric artists, crafty types, designers, or costumers.
I don't have the same number of each color, or I would just make up packages with one of each color and I would sell the package as a lot.
I was thinking about selling each color as a separate Dutch auction, but I don't know if that would work. After all, would anyone buy 20 packets of a particular color?
I'm flummoxed ... Anyone have a suggestion about this?

Dear E, I am flummoxed too, not with your situation, but with eBay!
Just to get bearings, are these natural dyes or chemical? Asking because a lot of weavers might be interested in the dyes if they are natural.
Normally would think these dyes would sell on their own, but now a days, with such dicey times on eBay--perhaps groupings would be better.
For the last two years, I have found that Dutch Auctions are not always the best way to proceed.
Usually do better if each auction stands on its own, that is why I am thinking grouping colors.
Not sure if I have answered your question, but good luck with your dyes.
Have you done a search or completed search on eBay for this item? If so--what was the consensus? And where were these items listed? Some times, that is half the battle--to see where successful auctions were listed.

Boy, this is a tough one. But the first thing that came to my mind when reading your post is tie-dye (which is still popular).
Perhaps try selling in small lots with a variety of colors, say, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, and put in two or three packets of each color.
