I am finally breaking down and buying my own digital camera. (instead of mooching the work camera)
Seeking advice: has anyone ever used the Intel Pocket PC Camera? It's relatively inexpensive (on sale for $60 at Sam's Club), and I was wondering about the picture quality.
I know you get what you pay for, but I have no need for a $300-400 camera.

We bought one of these for our kids to use. They were always wanting to borrow my digital camera, something that didn't thrill me. It is used mostly as a Web Cam.
I can't honestly say how good of pictures it takes. Let me take a couple of shots and upload them to my web space. I'll post the url and you can take a look for yourself. Back in a few...

That area is controlled by my kids, mostly my 19 year old son. He only tolerates the Hall teapots because he has no choice in the matter.

I just bought a digital camera for $30 (after rebate). I bought it for my daughter so she would stop pestering me to take my $400 camera to school. I expected a really low end piece of junk that takes fuzzy photos. I was surprised at the quality (for the price). This photo was taken indoors without flash in a dimly lit room.
The camera has USB downloading, built in flash, ram for 8 photos and you can add a multimedia card (not this is not smartmedia or compact flash). It uses a 9 volt battery. It does not have zoom or an lcd screen. I would say that for ebay auction photos, it would probably do nicely.
As an added bonus, you also get a handheld digital recorder that can record 4 minutes of sound and a program that lets you distort your voice. You also get your first 50 photos printed free by uploading them to Jamcam's website. How they do it for $30 I dont know.
