All of our postal workers, including the carriers, have now been sent home. No postal activity here in Johnstown.

Earlier on, I contacted my customers with "shipping pending", since all airports are closing down until further notice. They originally said till at least 5 AM tomorrow...but brace yourself for a longer time......We do not need to have their anger added on to the horrors of today!....

I really hope people (sellers and buyers), will not take advantage of this situation....

our local bank closed down early. We have no phones in town [we are in Manassas, VA, somewhat near the general Pentagon area]

My post office was still open today as of 4:00 PM Eastern Time in Elyria, Ohio. I told them I was planning to ship packages tomorrow and asked if they would even be open. The answer I got was that they didn't even know themselves what was going to happen tomorrow. To be expected I guess...

I plan to package up my shipments tonight and hold off on affixing those nice new Priority Mail labels on the few I've got to go that route pending a phone call to the PO to make sure they are open tomorrow.

So, those of you who are using any kind of online postage right now might want to hold off on printing your labels out, too, until you find out if you can ship.

At our post office in Northwest suburban IL no Express Mail service. This means one is likely to have slightly more traffic among priority mail packages.

Educated guess is that planes will fly by tomorrow evening but they will be packed....

I've emailed the few that I had planned to ship tomorrow and told them I would be shipping later in the week (probably Friday or Saturday). Packages are safer with me than trying to travel in this disaster.
