To all our brothers and sisters in America, especially those in;
New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania and near Camp David,
whom we have come to know through our trading on the internet.
Our sincerest thoughts and deepest prayers are with you.
There are prayer vigils currently under way in numerous churches within our city and through out Australia,
Including other places like the Catholic Hospital where my wife works and at my children’s school.
My wife and I were awoken by a phone call from a close friend near midnight (our time) last night to be told of this act of “faceless cowardice” to which we could only react with disbelief, even after watching updates for several hours on TV.
We would like to convey to you that the Australian Government, through our Prime Minister John Howard, who was at Washington near the Pentagon at the time, has reaffirmed its support of the United States of America.
These terrorist acts are seen by all of as abhorrent, and have been universally condemned by all Australians including representatives of the Australian Islam Community.
From my personal observations, the general feeling of the Australian Public is one of abhorrence and disbelief,
with well wishes and prayers for all those around the world whose families have been directly affected, particularly in America.

Thank you from Johnstown. I am but a few minutes away from the PA crash site. It was a scary day, and nite made me wonder what could happen next.

Costa- My thanks as well for the thoughts. I am from the Pittsburgh area. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness, love and concern from friends in Australia. I will be visiting there shortly. At this point it will be none too soon!
The world is so small and what effects one of us affects us all it seems.

I have a friend in Outtrim, Victoria. He called me yesterday and expressed the same concerns and hope. We both work in emergency services, so his concerns were well founded.
We will persevere. Americans by nature, may argue about football, politics, or God knows, anything else. BUT watch CNN and you will see how americans come together and forget all of the petty differences when "Sugar turns to S**t"
