Seems it sure is hard to concentrate on doing e-bay today! But--if I ever get back to listing, can someone help me identify these old figurines of children? They are made of a heavy china with a rough feel (not slick and shiny) to it. They are made to lie on their backs and the back is flat with a round hole at about shoulder level. (In fact, it looks like you could hang them from a wall if you wanted to.) In the reclining position, they are about 3 1/2" tall and 6" long. No maker's mark anywhere--got them at an estate auction.

Do a search on eBay for 'piano baby'.

My thoughts on this issue have gone 'Un-Surveyed' and may not be of importance to the P.T.B.

there was a PA farmer who owned two donkeys-jack and jill and he claimed them on his income tax return as dependants for 16 years.
see if you can do something in the same line.

I am sure they are piano babies, they usually come in pairs, around the early 1900's usually.

Ditto to piano babies. Also, the unglazed porcelain is usually referred to as "bisque" and you may want to mention it in your auction.

They don't look like 1900 German Bisque piano babies. They look like Japanese piano babies made post 1950's.

Thanks for your help. In looking up piano babies, it looks like that is what these are and I will list them as such.

Hwahwahwa--I don't get it.
