These days you really can't GIVE away beanies, so some great person has decided to list at least 40 or more auctions and is supposedly giving the 'profits' to the red cross.

>THIS IS A TIME OF NEED AND THE VICTIMS AND FAMILIES OF THIS U.S. TRAGEDY NEED YOUR HELP!!

YOU ARE BIDDING ON 1 RANDOM TY BEANIE BABY. PLEASE ONLY BID $10 <

ONLY bid $10.00 in a 'random' beanie.....

....what a great scam to unload a bunch of junk!

If I could make the check payable to the RED CROSS I might consider it.

Somehow, I don't think that will be an option.

Hopefully ebay will end this spamming abuse soon. (could be more than 40 auctions for the same thing, from the same person)

Maybe they really are donating the profits.

I remember a few years ago, all those people coming into the antique shop that I sold my wares out of. Of course, a lot of them were only interested in beanies. Bypassed all of the nicer stuff to get to those things. That craze was insanity. I, for one am glad it's over.

I am proud to say I've never bought and sold a beanie. And sad to say I missed out on some good money by not giving in.

I've got scruples but no clams.

When i saw the schmucks auctioning wtc domain names i used a false ID to bid bomb many of them. of course ebay ended all of them and cancelled the bids over the past 24 hours i have recv's several emails regaring these auctions from the listers and from those who harvested my email from the auctions...check them out

1...from an email harvester sent via ask a member a question

I have a lot of (4) domain names:

www.destroybinladen.com
www.ihatebinladen.com
www.stopterroristattacks.com
www.worldtradehorror.com

would you be interested in purchasing, and if so, perhaps we can work out a bargain price compared to what you have been paying elsewhere. let me know ASAP. thanks

--------------------
This email was sent by an eBay member via eBay's email forwarding system

2. i recv'd this today from someone wanting to buy the doamin i used a BIN for 3 different ones

Hi, my name is xxxrk xxxxxano, and I am looking to buy
the domains you bought on eBay from you. They will be
used respectfully, because of the situation at hand.
I will give you $100K for the 3. I really need them
quickly, and the person who was selling them said they
are waiting for response from the winning bidder. Did
you, in fact, win the auction? It is now taken down,
but I would still like to buy them, and they say
someone won the auction. Anyways, if this was you,
will you sell them to me?

Thanks,
xxxxxrk xxxxxno

3...this is the one i just got from the original lister telling me one fell thru but he makes a secondary offer

Well, we have had a slight problem. The registration for
wtcinvestigation.com did not go through. I am in a fight with my domain
registrar. I will sell you www.wtctragedy2001.com and
www.worldtradecenterattackinfo.com for $60,000. I will pay the transfer
fees, and will send you full documentation.

You can pay by cashier's check, bank wire, or money order. Please advise me
as to which you would like to do, and I will send you the information. I
play to donate 10%-25% to the Red Cross relief fund in your name. Please
e-mail me back promptly.

Thank You,

just thought some might find this of interest

Tell the guy to send you the $100k and send it on to the Red Cross.

I had thought about setting up some auctions for the Red Cross. In the auction, however I would state that the amount of the winning bid is to be sent to me with the payee on the check to be The Red Cross. I would then forward that check to them.

Charity auctions aren't even allowed at ebay anymore.

You can send your donation directly to the Red Cross and be assured they receive the entire amount.

Sure, it's 'possible' that they would have given the 'profits' to the Red Cross.

However, the seller had a 5 feedback and no less than 40 'beanie charity' auctions listed at once. (also an ebay listing violation)

ebay has zapped them into oblivion, along with many others.

I see that wtc is starting to show up in unrelated auction titles now.

The new catch phrase, I guess.
