Watching and hearing our American National Anthem being sung in Ottowa (sp?) this morning touched me deeply. As this is the only forum I, personally, have to reach back to our Canadian neighbors with thanks, I do so now. I am so touched by this gesture of support, sympathy and solidarity.

Thank you.

Everyone:

There are many threads now open in the Ebay Outlook Forum that do not apply to E-bay activities and should be opened in the Round Table Forum. As of now, we are going to leave those threads open but in the future, they may be locked. Also in the future, please open any new threads in the Round Table.
Please be aware, we are not trying to stifle conversation, but despite the events of Tuesday, people are still doing business on eBay and need the eBay forum for business advice.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

For shame.

Is San Bruno, California really several worlds away from New York and Washington?

Have you no national pride?

Absolutely unbelieveable!

Before everyone has a hissy fit & jumps all over Smitty, I'd like to know if this is the sentiment of AW Management.

How about it, Mark? Care to weigh in on this?

I'm not understanding this reaction - the Round Table is for threads that aren't auction related.. and is only a click away - why is there an objection to placing new posts there? Am I missing something?

I think the AW Moderator is way off base- what happened here in New York on Tuesday affects the whole world. Last time I looked EBAY was still a part of this world and not a world unto itself. Some of the petty problems we have faced as buyers or sellers shrink in comparison to the events of September 11th. Five thousand of my neighbors are dead. Maybe the robots in silicone alley can't fathom this

In the present circumstances, I think Smitty was way out of order. All my customers are on eBay. I appreciate you will have payment problems and I will have shipping problems. And I have just sold to New Zealand. Should this message be banned?

Hello everybody,

We at AW, as well as everyone else in the nation and in the world, are deeply affected by Tuesday's events. As a company, we are all struggling on both personal and corporate levels to maintain a semblance of order and sense of "normalcy".

We completely understand that this is an unprecedented event - and we regret that we've come across as insensitive. We would appreciate, however, if you would simply move down to the Round Table to discuss the events of Tuesday - eBay business is continuing despite everything and these threads can easily overwhelm this forum.

Thanks for your understanding,

Diana

Sorry Diana. I trade with The World on eBay. Why should I not use your message boards to express my sympathy to USA and explain to my World Wide buyers that there will be a delay in shipping?

Diana

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

John Donne (1624)
