I am wanting to get an accounting software that will IMPORT Ebay listings and fees preferably. Something simple and basic as I have no need for alot of the extras that most accounting software packages offer.
I do not inventory my items. I just need to keep track of Ebay sales plus Ebay, Auction Watch, Paypal fees and general expenses for income reporting. My current methods are much too time consuming. I desperately need to free up my time and direct my enegeries to listing more items.
What software are you Ebay sellers using? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

i dont think there is one,but services such as paypal allows you to download to excel spreadsheet, amzn has that feature,so does yahoo shop.
dont know if ebay provides this download, may be you can have them all download in different passes and see if you can match them by listing id.
oracle has a system called netledger for 9.95 a month,it does not handle inventory ,you can go to yahoo shopping and find more info or find oracle website.

I THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO. I WILL CHECK IT OUT. I TRIED DOWNLOADING FROM PAYPAL ONCE AND IT CAME IN ALL ENCRYPTED, NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF SYMBOLS THAT MADE NO SENSE.

Auctiva Manager (formerly eBud) will import your listings/final bids/eBay fees.

I've usually recommended Quickbooks, especially to the non-accounting types. I use Peachtree for my own business, because I have a bit more advanced needs for inventory tracking. Most normal ebay sellers would do well with Quickbooks, you buy something, and then you sell it. You're not buying thousands of identical items, putting them together and reselling (which would be beyond Quickbooks).

As far as downloading ebay fees, do yourself a big favor and just make one entry per month, and that is what ebay charges your credit card. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to have each individual fee entered correctly, there is NO good way to do this if you're doing it on a large scale. Of course (there are always exceptions) if you're selling five items a month, each for $5,000.00, then you may be interested in tracking each item for profitibilty (this is called job costing). But for the normal ebay seller, selling items for ten, fifty, a hudred dollars, and hundreds of items a month, don't even bother to track each item's fees individually.

There are auction management services that do allow you to import each auction (with a winning bidder) into Quickbooks, but I am not sure if AW is among those (few) yet. I'd appreciate knowing if they are (moderators?).

But, for most ebay sellers, there is nothing that even comes close to Quickbooks for taking care of the bookkeeping for your business. They have something like 75% of the small business market now also, it's hard to go wrong with it.

I have used Quickbooks Pro for years and it is just fine for me. I do not track every item or even every customer, but it keeps very good cost and income records for taxes and profit/loss information.
