i've been using endicia for sometime, it's been working good so far.
right now, I'm trying to print out a US Priority mail label and then the software goes through the contact the server the first time and did not print anything out. The postage was substracted from my account. I tried a second time, it then starts to contact server and froze up, I had to shut it down manually. When I reopened it, the second postage was subtracted as well.
is there any problems with endicia for other ppl as well? If not, how would I claim back these lost postages since I do not have any paper form of them whatsoever.

Greetings xellos:
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread...I have had the same thing happen to me a couple of times but thought it was a printer problem of some really weird sort -- even though my printer works terrifically 99% of the time including with Endicia.

It is my understanding from the site that there is NO WAY to get a refund without having the printed postage.
Even if you have it printed you have 10 days from the print date to get it in.
I am still waiting to receive some miss printed label refund. I stent them in weeks ago.
Good Luck,
You can always email Harry. His email address is in just about every Endicia threads so I do not think he will mind me giving it to you - [email protected]

Neither of you mentioned the brand or model of printer you are using. I'm sure Harry will find that of great help especially if you're using the same printer. This sounds like it may be a printer/printer driver issue to me. My HP 6L laser has occassional hiccups but it's HP's terrible drivers and not a problem with the endicia software. I'm able to print consistently well to the HP ink jet here but would rather send it to the laser to make the label printing waterproof.

thanks for the replies, guys.
I was using an epson, I do not think it's a printer problem. Because the second time, the server hasn't even started the printing process when it froze. I tried it once again after I posted the message, this time I tried it with test print, the software froze again.
I will contact endicia later on. It's kinda strange though.........my printer usually prints out something or have some kind of signal saying it's out of paper or something....this time, it doesn't even react...hmmmm.

Hi, I've had this problem once or twice with my Epson, but it will feed the label through then give me the out of paper status. I've been able to successfully re-feed the label without issue. Make sure the insert paper light isn't flashing on your printer.

Hmm....I am using a xerox and don't think it was a printer issue either.
Xellos, what time of day did this happen to you? Is it because we are both night owls and are running into some sort of maintenance going on at the endicia site?
As far as having "something on paper" to prove the problem....it did show up in your log (just guessing since mine did). I am a bit more persistent than some and tried 3 times. What are the odds to the same person/address three boxes of the same weight on the same night? At 2 pounds it would be a waste of money and material not to even think about the extra those parameters would generate.

yup, I tried it three times too and they all show up in my log. I tried printing them at about 10 pm last night and have printed them at that time almost everyday. Yesterday was the only day I had the problem.

Hello All!
We (Endicia) think this is a problem with GDI (Graphic Device Interface) resources going below a certain level and causing the printer driver to fail to render (any) graphic image. As all of you have noted, this occurs sporatically.
We have another program build which performs more rigorous checks on the printer interface calls in DAZzle. Please contact our technical support to get this version. However, as we suspect the problem is in the printer driver and not our program, this new version might not help much.
If you have a tool on your PC which monitors GDI resources, please keep an eye on that. If you encounter a situation where the indicium image does not print, please make a note of the GDI value and let us know ([email protected] or contact technical support).
If your GDI resources are getting low, try closing other applications or rebooting your machine. When you are in this situation and taking remedial actions, you can check to see if graphics printing is back to normal by performing a "test print". The test print also renders a graphic image -- if that prints a live indicia should print as well.
Regarding refunds for situations like this, the USPS is finally giving us some leeway as of last week. If you have a situation like this, get your environment back to a working situation (e.g. reboot or close other apps), and then print your label again to the same destination and for the same postage amount. And be sure to be using some sort of tracked mail (like Priority/Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation or Express Mail). Then Email technical support and explain what happened. We'll see if we can get you a refund from USPS.
