Since mid day yesterday trying to access anything on ebay has been slower than I've ever seen it. I use Adelphia Power Link cable ISP.......should zip around like lightening.
Other parts of the net are accessible but much slower than should be with cable connection.
Is anyone else having this problem accessing ebay? According to Adelphia they are not experiencing any problems in my area....

I am in Pennsylvania using DSL and all works well here. I'd suspect that your local provider or whomever supplies their bandwidth is having a problem. (More than likely a localized problem) Your local provider wouldn't know if there is a particular problem in part of their service area unless they actually checked for it. It sounds more like you got a stock answer of "it's not our problem, go away." You can perform tests, such as tracing the route from your computer out, on your end to help determine where the problem lies but it's something that you probably wouldn't be familiar with.
My former dial-up provider would deny problems constantly and revert to the "go away" statements until I would tell them exactly where the problem was in their systems and suddenly it was an inconvenience for them to take care of it.

lorettab1,
I also use Adelphia powerlink cable. I am in central virginia. They were definately having a problem this morning. I was getting an invalid IP address from them. Since I am now at work, I don't know if they have fixed it yet or not. You can check your TCP/IP address two ways. If you are using a windows operating system, type "winipcfg" in the run box on the start menu. If you are using macintosh, go to your TCP/IP control panel. If the IP address begins with 169. then you are not getting a valid connection from Adelphia. If that is the case, I would contact their tech support again and try to get someone who knows what they're talking about.
