I put a small waving American flagg gif at the bottom of my auctions..It is a free gif. I posted it through AW....It worked fine when I first put it up....then it disappeared...I went in and looked at the html and it looked fine...I deleted it and redid it again anyway...Flag was well visable again..then a few hours later...GONE AGAIN!
I read on someone elses auction that their flag "disappeared" as well...What gives with that??..could it be ebay or AW violating my American right to show patriotism of my country?? Tell me it ain't so and there is another explanation...PLEEEZE! Could it be they do not want to ruffle the feathers of their International interests and are trying to be bi-partisan?? That thought sickens me...somebody help me out here, please! I MUST be way off base here! Surely AW or Ebay would not denounce the showing of the American flag on it's own American Ebay soil!
But...why would the gif work correctly but keep disappearing?? I have given up and the familiar square with the X in the corner is all that is visable now and not my proudly waving American Flag.
ALSO:..I agree with everyone 100% on the disgust with the auctions for charity..a direct donation link by Ebay would have been more acceptable and how dare they dictate Billpoint only!..I can not believe the audacity of any of it! Sounds like profiteering for publicity and dollars to me! and...seller supplied free shipping?? Who does that support?? Certainly not the victims of this horrible attack! USPS ring a bell? and the buyers of the merchandise offered! Ebay is donating OUR listing & fvf fees...how big of them...from our pockets to their claim for glory..I join the boycott on on Ebays feeble attempt for "charity"!

They do not come back when I reload...I think I have been strong armed by Ebay because they are also using the American flag in their Auctions for America agenda to show participation. I think it is unAmerican, if that be the case, to deny my right to show unity of our Nation and support by displaying a symbol of freedom that belongs to and for all Americans, not just to Ebay dictated tactics and disgressions. If this is not the case, and they tell me so, I will humbly digress with sincere apology.. however, given the current Ebay trends, my logical assumption will stand until disputed.

That is good news (your flags up)..maybe it is just a computer glitch somehow or maybe the ebay police task force has not reported your flags yet?? When my purse auction got shut down, there were still hundreds up that had not been na'rued...same with my antique brooch auction made of tourtoise shell (brooch was over 100 years old...poor turtle would probably have died of old age by then anyway......
Does AW have a clue as to why? Please respond, AW..
Thanks

What link are you using? Are you linking to somebody else's server - it could be going down, or they could move the graphic.

I've noticed on boards that people are linking to third party servers - which could simply be getting bogged down with tons of links to the graphic.

Yes, somebody moved the graphic from there. I would guess that the traffic on their server was more than they wanted to offer.

Most graphics servers do not like to have direct links to their files. The thing to do is to copy a graphic to your hard drive, then host the graphic on your own server.

If you use eBay to host your graphics for your auctions, you might incur a cost to add the flag. If you use auctionwatch or another service, you can upload the graphic just like one of your auction picures, and get the web address for the graphic. Then use the same form <img src="http://newserveryoufound.com/usf261b.gif">

website policy from their home page:
Please Note: Should you find any clipart on our site that you like, please "save" the images and then upload to your website directory. Do not link directly to our gifs and jpg's. When other sites link to our images, instead of saving them, it bogs down our servers and slows the download time for everyone.
