Dear Abbie,

Yesterday I sniped a small item. The bidding had been at $3.50 for 4 days. I bid $5.00 with esnipe and won the item for $3.75. Last night I got the following email:

"Snipers are really NOT nice people. Have a well deserved day."

I want to write back and tell them that if they had proxy bid what they were willing to pay, then I wouldn't have had a chance of upping my bid. And perhaps some other choice words. But I don't want to have a useless argument.

I blocked their ID from bidding on my auctions.

Am I taking this too hard? Is there anything else I can do to prevent possible meddling with my auctions?

Stop now & you've done the correct thing.

If you respond via email you will more than likely just fire them (and yourself) up even more.

More than likely the bidder will loose track of this in a few days and move on.

People will learn to bid once, bid the amount that you're willing to pay and let nature take it course.

If you wanna play the (ebay) game you gotta know that there are winners AND loosers.

I've learned.

Dear Sniper,

Create yourself a bidding ID.

High Road:

Ignore it & move on.

Low Road:

Forward the url for esnipe to them.

Do not snipe with your seller ID.

better yer get another ID to buy with and follow their bidding and milk their bid to the max you can work em up to, this is very easy once you do it a time or two. most people bid in a pattern that is VERY easy to follow. i learned this nin my shill days...or just win everything they bid on via a snipe.........i like the milking method, i have made some folks really pay like this. now i use it on deadbeats only by working their bids up to the proxy limit....have had quite a few pay 100 bucks or more for a 20 buck item etc.......
