I was amazed at the number of yard sales this weekend. Last weekend was nil. This weekend was a treasure trove of finds with some people donating their take to the Red Cross. Some of my treasures included framed oil paintings, an old doll house with antique furnishings, Wexford butterdish, some great photography books, Milk glass snack sets in the grape pattern, silver dolphin bottle opener. Much more too numerous to mention.

This year was not a very good year in yard sales, IMO. Although the season has been longer because of the recession, good stuff has been hard to come by. It's been mostly junk. I did find a Iomega ZIP drive for $2 and my wife scored with a set of 4 lighted collector dishes designed by Thomas Kincade--for $5! With COA! Let's hope for a good indian summer and more sales.

Bought a Barbie Friend Ship for $5.00, Barbie Country Home for $5.00, old Barbie case for $1.00, old Barbie van for $3.00, a box of Barbie clothes and accessories for $3.00, Currier & Ives sugar, creamer and two cups for $2.50, an old tube radio that works for $1.00, vintage Schwinn bicycle seat for .25, set of moonstone candlesticks for .50 plus lots of other stuff just to use or wear. This was a great weekend for the garage sales!

Saturday afternoon I went to an auction and got a few good buys there too. The best buy was a pair of iris and herringbone candlesticks for $4.00!

An unused, modern, Singer adjustable dressmakers' dummy, that when I couldn't believe his answer to my " how much?" ($10.00), he thought I was apalled and offered it to me for $5.00 !

Now I can get down to listing the Vintage clothing I've been putting off all Summer !
