Hello, I'm having a slow day, so I thought I'd look through some of my auctions and see how my bidders look. Well, I've got one bidder that, I'm not sure what to do with. Their rating is 32 postives, 2 neutrals and 6 negatives. All for non payment. They never responded to any of the negative feedbacks. The idea of cancelling the bid came to mind, but I'm not sure if I should do that or not. What would you guys do?

Are the negs/neutrals recent? Can you see any pattern to them (if they were long ago or all together which could have been due to an illness)?
If they aren't, then I'd seriously consider bidding a fond farewell to this one.

Check to see if there is a common thread among the negs- IE the seller doesn't take Paypal. I don't take Paypal myself and have that clearly stated in my auction copies but some people just bid away and then feel they don't have to pay me because I don't offer the payment of "choice". I've seen more and more of this activity among my auctions and other auctions and will cancel a bid if I detect non-payments and negatives on the buyers other auctions without a Paypal logo. If you take Paypal, you probably won't have a problem with the bidder (if this is the common thread). Just something to look for.

Well, upon closer examination, 3 of the negs were this past february, and the other 3 negs and 2 neutrals were during a spree during sept-oct of '98. Since Feb of this year, she's had 16 positive transactions where she's the buyer. hmmmm

Hi Cindy, sounds hinky, but we all just have to believe that the bidder has best intentions on paying in a timely matter no matter what their feedback.
In your end of auction notice, if you usually don't do this, at this time say--"payment expected within 10 days. After 15 days(or whenever you wish the time frame) a NPBA will be filed with eBay. Hope we have a successful transaction!"
Deadbeats are a fact of life on eBay. Some people just get the biggest kick out of their lives by bidding and then not paying.
