Hello,
I am appalled at Ebay. Just when I think they can mess up any more and tarnish their image, they go right ahead and do it. What were they thinking with this Auctions for America thing? How stupid do they think the American Public is, and why are they adding to the unemployment roll in America, when America so desperatly needs people working, especially at this time?

With the AFA, all they are trying to do is make themselves look good on the backs of the
sellers. Their listing and final value fees are a charitable write off at the end of the year, but at the sametime, are putting some sellers out of business with the free shipping clause, and the necessity to sign up with Billpoint. (another financial move to further line Ebays pockets.)

Why don't they ask for input from their community before implementing some bright guys *think tank* mentality, by perhaps doing this.......

So many people WANT TO HELP in some way because of our American Tragedy that befell
our Nation on 9-11-01. Many cannot afford to do what Ebay wants with their AFA. Why not
do this, while at the same time tremendously increasing listings, and giving EVERYONE a
chance to really help, EBAY included? If in fact Ebays heart was in the right place, they would
do this:

1. Increase listing fees to double for this time frame, (and excuse me, but 100 days is waaaaaay too long......) (people across the board would go for this I am sure)

2. Ebay to donate ALL listing fees for ALL auctions to AFA plus MATCH the listing fees
collected, and send those to the AFA fund.

3. Open payments up to PayPal and other Payment Plans as well, instead of trying to force people to sign up with Billpoint, another way for Ebay to line its pockets and impress the investors.

Ebay could still come out smelling like a Rose, they would not eliminate everyone that wants to help but cannot afford to give not only their products away but the shipping costs as well, and they (EBAY) could write it off as a Charitable Contribution as well. Win, WIN situation!!

Please take the time to slide this under Megs door would you? So that she would not have to admit she made a huge blunder, she could add this as an adendum to the present plan,
wanting to embrace the ENTIRE EBAY COMMUNITY. She would be a hero!
Thanks!

eBay will simply toss it in the "round file". It does make for good therapy though.

tomwiii> That is a great idea to leave but where to go? No where is doing anything right now. I am soooo geared and supplied for the Christmas Season and Ebay just quashed it.....gotta re-group and figure this thing out. We are a smart bunch here so collectivly we can come up with another plan of action and not lose Christmas Sales. perhaps a mass influx to another, agreed upon site? There is strength in numbers you know.

BooHoo is working OK for me now -- I've cultivated a buyer base there over the past 6 mos to the point of a 40% sell-thru; not great, but better than GIVING EVERYTHING AWAY OUT OF MY POCKET and into meg's EGO!!
