I purchased a signed westmoreland piece today which is a birds nest with a bird on top and the top comes off. It is milkglass. Both pieces are signed. Since I know nothing about Westmoreland I would appreciate any help.

Westmoreland was an old company that eventually went out of business in 1985. The last mark they used was a circle with "Westmoreland" around the perimeter and a large "W" in the center. If it has that mark it's a later piece. If it's marked "WG" it could be from the 1960's or thereabouts. The early pieces were marked with a paper label.
This information comes from a Shroeder's Antiques Price Guide.
By the way, I couldn't find "bird on a nest" in the guide so I have no idea as to value.

It has a WG on both pieces. It is like one of the chickens that sit on a basket only it is a bird sitting on a nest and the nest is in a tree branch. It is about 6" high and 4" round. Very unusual. I havent checked ebay yet to see if anyone has one on. Thanks for your information. It helps a little.

Found it on eBay. There were 4 in the active auctions and 4 ended auctions. From now on I will check ebay first. Thanks
