And no, I don't mean those of you over the age of 80. *haha*
I am interested in learning more about antique glassware and pottery. Can anyone reccommend a good resource website or book (I LOVE books)? When ever I do a search, I always end up with tons of sellers sites.
Also another quick question that I feel really stupid asking: How do you all get your links to work on this message board and the little faces? I've tried the html codes, but they aren't working on the message board.
Thanks!

In my opinion, some of the best books for beginners and professionals alike, are the books by MILLER'S ..

My thoughts on this issue have gone 'Un-Surveyed' and may not be of importance to the P.T.B.

First, you buy the newest copy of Schroeder's Price Guide......then you study it. Then you go out and buy every book you need in order to ID what you have...and then....

dont start with price guides-they are misleading and they are not accurate and the pictures are lousy and misleading.
get the good ones by authorities published by bullfinch, abrams etc,go for the best,go to barnes and noble and see what they have ,get a good cup of mocha coffee, grap a sofa and read and read and read, the pictures are superb.

The Collector Books offerings are very good in terms of pictures and reasonably priced. Be sure you take advantage of their 40% off if buying 6 or more books in a single order.
Go to their website and ask for their latest book list by snailmail if the site itself doesn't make it easy to use this multiple-book discount. They subtly try to make you think you have to be a dealer or have a dealer number of some kind to get the 40% discount--but you don't! Just call their toll-free number and they'll take your order.
Schiffer books also covers the collectible world, but they don't offer discounts and are more expensive to start with.
If you have a decent bookstore in your area, go and browse to get the best idea of what these books look like.
