Back in June there was speculation that there might be another FLD at the end of Sept if ebay tries the same approach to perk up listings before their quarterly reports.
If so, would it happen Sept 30?
I am always interested in FLD's, but boy would tomorrow be hard, since I have church, then work all afternoon, then a dinner party all evening!
I may call in sick. ; - )
Or maybe the AFA auctions have increased the listings enough?

eBay is currently running a free listing day. In fact it is for the next 100 days. It's called Auctions for America. No listing or final value fees.
Seriously I doubt you'll see one until sometime in December when they have their normal Scheduled free listing day.

I think I found the answer to my own question. I just checked the Auction Counter page and it appears that listings are at the highest point ALL YEAR except for the spike at the June FLD.
Wow. I guess some of that is AFA listings, but surely most of it is sellers getting back to business in a big way.
On the other hand, ebay isn't profiting from the AFA listings either, right? so would they need to do something to improve their bottom line, such as encourage "regular" listings that will incur FVF's?

a4a listings are down to less than 30k

It would seem that the increase is regular listings.

Nope! I'm sure ebay thinks they are giving away enough with the free a4a list fees! It would be a shock if they actually DID care enough about the sellers to offer a "no catch" fld while all this is going on!

Even if they did do a FLD, the last thing I would think is that it was for the sellers. They didn't do it in June for the sellers but, supposedly, to make their numbers look better for their quarterly report.
Maybe they have enough "regular" auctions going, though, that it would not be necessary to drum up more business.

If they do do it, it will be in the 4th Quarter, so they can again manipulate their books to benefit them as they are with AFA in the 3rd. That's assuming that AFA continues to fizzle number- and moneywise. If AFA picks up, and affects the 4th Quarter numbers positively, I wouldn't even expect the usual December FLD.

Sure would like a FLD!!! I have stuff to list that's too low value to be worth the individual listing fee, and too busy right now to rewrite all the descriptions.
Come on FLD!!!!!
