Hi fellow AW/Ebay sellers! I have been having chronic problems relisting my items for some months now. Sometimes..tho'rarely, one or two relists go thru. But more often than not, after having edited the closed auction and clicked to continue, I get message that this page is not available or the message that I need to go back and fill in fields. Always I have all fields filled in. I have complained several times to ebay and they say, "It's your browser." Well, I recently downloaded the newest Internet Explorer 6, and I still cannot relist auctions. It really stinks that each time I have an auction that closes without bids, I have to list a completely new auction; therefore, I have to pay 2nd listing fee each time. Would appreciate any illumination anyone can shed on this aggravating problem. And P.S., I know about the glitch in listing auctions this afternoon/evening. Mine new listings keep coming up errors like everyone else's. My relisting problem is a chronic one, however.
Thank you! isolde9

We have had problems where Paypal adds its Javascript to the listing. Our solution has been to totaly eliminate their entires begining at the last Auctionwatch html command - sometimes it works

It is not just you. I have the same problem using IE. I have to use Netscape or Opera. When I am in IE, if I click on relist and I get that error message, I hit the return button, let it sit for 5 minutes and try again. Then it usually takes. What a pain! Ugh, Christine

Yes, after months of hassles, I found that Netscape let me relist first time, every time. And I was not using the PayPal javascript thing either.

Well, it's weird--I use Internet Explorer 5.something (can't remember exactly) and don't have any trouble at all with relists. Also have no trouble with revising--had to revise 14 the other day cause I made a big stupid mistake in my template! I don't use AW, though, nor do I list directly on eBay, so possibly it's a glitch if you use those services????

I no longer relist, but when I did, I found that using the Opera browser make relisting much easier. I used to use MSN Explorer, and would always get page not found and other errors. Opera worked every time.

May want to give it a try.

I have tried for days to revise and auction using IE, I downloaded Netscape and it worked the first time!!! Never was I given any help with the problem from e bay at all they never even responded to my e mail to support. Seems to me if the problem is isolated to IE it would easy enough to isloate the problem and fix it???? Maybe they dont want to fix it as you'll pay them another fee........

ALL I CAN SAY AT THIS POINT IS THAT I AM HAPPY TO KNOW THERE ARE OTHERS. HAPPY, NO, LESS FRUSTRATED. KNOWING THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITHIN MY OWN SYSTEM. COME ON RE LISTING PROBLEM PEOPLE START YELLING. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.

What can I say, but, "Aha!" Thank you everyone out there for responding to my cry for help. When I think of the hours, the days I've wasted and the untold frustration I've experienced trying to relist, it makes me steam! Not that I'm happy so many others are also tormented, but I must confess that the knowledge makes me feel easier. I even paid a guy $50 to work on my computer to solve the problem, albeit, to no avail! This may be coincidental, but I have to state it: I had no problem, whatsoever, with relisting until the "Buy Now" feature was added to ebay. Has anyone else experienced the same? The first time I complained to ebay was the day or so after the feature was added. Now, another question which shows my lack of computer savvy: Can I download Netscape or Opera and use one of them interchangably with Internet Explorer? Thank you again! isolde9

isolde9-

I've never used Opera, but generally you can use any browser you wish on your system. Both Internet Explorer (IE) and Netscape will both try to make themselves the default web browser though. Make sure you follow the prompts they give you about the default browser and you'll be OK.

INTERESTING ABOUT THE "BUY IT NOW" DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THAT TIME FRAME????? HOW LONG AGO??? THANKS. MAYBE WE OURSELVES CAN GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS. ME PERSONALLY, I BET IT HAPPENED AROUND THE TIME E BAY DECIDED TO PROTECT US FROM THOSE HORRIBLE E MAIL ADDRESS HARVESTERS. USER I.D. ONLY NOW. I JUST WISH IT WORKED THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSE TO.

BIN started just before the holiday season last year.
Try this "fix" when you relist. Works for me, hope it works for you.
Find the auction you want to relist. After clicking "relist," click the eBay category link labeled "click here." The screen will change to show the category you listed in. You must now click the "select here if you can't view the category selector above." Then you should be lock & load for this auction relist and any relist you do immedaitely there after.
Hope it works for you.

Thank you one and all! Happy to report that I downloaded Netscape and relisting was almost a breeze. Almost. As long as I didn't try to change categories. When I clicked at top to change category, screen froze up and I had to go ctrl alt delete which closed everything out. It wasn't just one isolated incident..tried to change categories on two different auctions 3 times each. Each time same thing....freeze out!
Other glitch was that of many many auctions I wanted to relist...because for nearly a year I couldn't use the function....all but 10 were expired. C'est la vie! <BR><BR> To Walhalla..thank you. I had discovered that trick a few months ago, but unfortunately for me, it would only work for 2 or 3 relists max...then it would go back to the same old nonsense. Guess I'll stick with relisting from Netscape in cases of not having to change categories, and making new listings of cases where category change is in order. Don't think I'll bother with complaining yet again to ebay...t'would be but more wasted time. isolde9

Definately do the relist in the WRONG CATEGORY, cut & paste the auction number, then go to site map, and click on change your items category and DO IT! You can also go into REVISE your auction as well. Did you know that you can change the price, # number of days, BIN price, etc up to 12 hours before the auction ends?? You were not able to do the price and #days up until a couple of months ago. So, in my opinion, get all the free relists that you can and then go in and change the information. Good Luck! Christine
