I would like to know if any of you are using this postage service. It is one that I am considering and I would like to hear what you think about it.

Many thanks..

Looks expensive to me...

I believe it prints only the postage & thus no address verification & barcode and NO FREE DC !! (??)

Think you're required to use the labels only in that printer-meter combo, right?

Start-up costs of ?? $50.00, last time I looked!

If you have a "decent" printer and a "decent" internet connection, then, for my moola, ENDICIA is the way to go!

We used it for over a year and it is a fine service; however, you still have to stand in line at the post office if you use delivery confirmation.

We switched to Endicia and as others have said Delivery Confirmation is free and automatically registered with the post office.

Now I just go to the back door (bulk mail dropoff) of my post office and leave my boxes. Takes about 30 seconds.

We are really happy! Go Endicia!!!

It's a great concept and I love the integrated scale idea. But looking at the overall package, there are some sticky issues:

1. high startup cost ($50.00);
2. do not get to keep the unit;
3. proprietary labels available only from simplypostage - unknown future cost.

But to be fair, it looks like they are currently waiving the startup fee and the labels are about $6.00/roll => 6¢ each (assuming $6 ship charge).

Carefully consider Endicia. The Free DC is a super feature that surprisingly, no one has tried to copy yet.

I was also recently comparing services among the online postage companies and also ruled out Simply Postage because of the need to use specialized equipment and supplies.

That left me with a choice of either Endicia or ClickStamp.

I chose ClickStamp because I don't use DC as a general rule and the monthly cost is only $1.49. I can still use DC if I need to and print out a postage label for the additional cost, not a big deal for me. So far I'm quite pleased with the service. They also have the bar coding and ZIP+4.

But if you use DC routinely on all or most of your shipments, then Endicia is most likely the way to go. Their site and features are impressive.

BTW, you only have to stand in line for DC if you want the package scanned so it shows the exact time you mailed it. You still can drop off your mail at the bulk dock. It just won't get its first scan until it's enroute, just like the free electronic DC.

A couple months back, there was a big hooha at the paypal board (or here?) about whether PP's "seller protection program" (SPP) terms would be met if you use Endicia. [The problem was whether the LACK of a USPS scan at the start of the package's voyage would mean that the SPP requirements weren't met. At the time, (as I remember it) Damon thought the seller would NOT be covered UNLESS the scan was done at the very beginning, and not anywhere else along its travels!]

So, has anyone got actual experience about this? IOW, have you:
1--used Endicia,
2--gotten the free DC,
3--dropped the package off WITHOUT getting the initial scan that you would have gotten by standing in line,
4--had to deal with paypal's SPP about a chargeback...?
