Just wondered if anyone has used DHL before to send packages. I have received a couple packages from them and they seemed to work out well. I'm also wondering how their international rates match up to the International rates of USPS. Obviously, the
country is important, but I'm just looking for some general advice.
Standard International Package is usually
9-10 oz-1.5 lbs
Max would probably be around 6lbs.
I got a request to quote shipping to Italy for a 6 lb package and I believe Economy was around
$25. Air Mail was pushing $40. Perhaps shipping will be high to certain locations
no matter what method I use, but I'd like to have a little info. from someone who has used DHS as I may want to give them consideration.
BTW, its been funny since I started insuring through U-Pic. The forbidden countries include Mexico, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan etc.
However, Afganistan is not on the list. I was a bit surprised given what may happen there in the future. However, I doubt I will have to worry about shipping there anytinme soon.

DHL has a website you can track the movement of your shipment.
coming from europe,they all end up in ohio first(cincinnati) and clear customs.
from there,it goes all over the country.
paris and cologne are two stopping points for them/
depends on what you are shipping from usa,the rates can be reasonable.

I used it to send an oversize package to New Zealand. The package didn't weigh that much, but the dimensions were too large for USPS and UPS would've cost over $200. DHL was around $50 and since it goes through the post office it was simple....no hassle.
