I just looked at what I sold last year at this time and it sure isn't selling now. I was getting good sales at good prices in early October 2000. My prices today are the same or lower. OK, what I sell is "want" items as opposed to "need", however, I see other auctions selling superfluous goods. Other than flags and gass masks, what is HOT right now?

Things right now are much different to last year. It's hardly surprising.
Like you, I sell collectible and "want" items.
The key to selling "want" items is to give the buyer a great reason to want it.
If you're selling bacon, sell the sizzle!
If you follow my drift.

I sell books, videos, dvd's and cd's. About 30% of what I sell is homeschool which normally has a very high sell through at this time of the year. Even that isn't selling and what little is,is getting such small bids. I normally only get 1 out of 70 deadbeats and I currently have an entire list of the them.

I'm selling personalized items (done form the computer), craft items (items used for paper crafts), and tools. All are selling well right now. Sales had been at a near standstill all summer, so I listed very little. Last week, things got back to normal (on eBay).
