I sold an item on ebay and received an email from the seller that they wanted to use a Bidpay Money order. I have never received one of these before. I got the confirmation letter from Bidpay for the amount due.
My question is how do I handle this transaction? Should I ship today, or should I wait until I receive the MO in the mail. This is new to me. Please help me on this one. Thanks in advance!

You should get two emails, the first saying the customer ordered the money order, and the second one confirming that it's been issued. Once you get the second email, you are pretty safe shipping the item if you want to. I've had nothing but good luck with bidpay.

I used to recommend to all my buyers to use BidPay.com until my last experience with them. About 4 months ago I had an auction end for $120. The buyer purchased a MO from bidpay.com and I got both emails including the second one saying my MO is on its way.
I shipped the merchandise and the customer was very happy and left me positive feedback. I waited for 2 weeks and never received the MO from bidpay.com. I visited there website and filled out the MO tracking form and got a reply back saying the MO that they sent me was not cashed and they would send out another one.
Two weeks later I filled out the same form and again received the same reply. Well, its been 4 long months and still no Money Order. Since then I refuse to accept bidpay.com as a form of payment.
I personally would never accept bidpay.com again. If a customers insists on using bidpay then make sure you have the MO in your hand before you ship our the merchandise.

You might consider registering with them so you can log on and check on-line. (It won't work with this order but will in future) It will tell you that the money order has been sent and give you the number. I always ship after printing out the page that confirms
that the money order has been mailed and the number. I have had dozens of money orders from Bidpay and no trouble at all (except that it is so expensive for the buyer)
Once one did not show up and it was reissued immediately after I emailed them. As this is your first, I would recommend waiting until it is in your hands to ship, it won't be more than a few days.

~love~ Bidpay.
I ship when I get the 2nd notice too, and I've always received it within a couple days. Buyers don't like the fee, so they mostly use it with the bigger priced items.
But I do get some people that refuse to use it and insist I accept Paypal.

I have received a lot of BidPay money orders lately and have started adding them as an option in my TOS. My international bidders seem to love them and don't mind paying the fees.
That being said, I never ship until I have the money order in my hot, little hands. It usually doesn't take but a couple of days after receiving the two confirmation e-mails for the money order to show up in my mailbox. Thus far, no compliants from the buyers about delays.
