PayPal had a new deal where they contact the bidders of an auction prior to close to remind them the auction is closeing and to make sure they were not out bid, blah blah blah etc etc... looked like a nice deal, so I activated it. No sooner it gets started, it is shut down! and eBay starts the same deal that week but says paypal can't do this. I think ebay is toooo controling.
It always looks as if ebay is the leader or follower and when following mugs the leader.
Not any lose on my part but I notice things like this happen alot from eBay, has anyone else noticed this pattern?
Anyhoot, here is the letter I got from paypal.

Dear PayPal Seller,
You recently registered to use PayPal's newest auction management
tool, Bidder Activation Messenger. This tool was designed to
increase your closing prices by sending a customized email message
to your bidders on the auction's final day to encourage them to
submit additional bids. This tool was opt-in and free of charge.
Unfortunately, eBay (tm) has instructed told PayPal to deactivate
this seller tool or else have all auction management features such
as Automatic Logo Insertion and Winning Bidder Notification blocked
from working on the eBay sitethat they think this feature violates
their user agreement with sellers, and they do not want sellers to
haveuse these sorts of third party automated tools. While PayPal
believes that Bidder Activation Messenger complied complies with
eBay's public guidelines of acceptable seller management tools, and
will appeal this policy decision, eBay indicates that their
decision is final.PayPal has agreed to deactivate this feature
while we continue our discussions with eBay.
As a result, Bidder Activation Messenger is now turned off and will
not send out further notifications to your auction bidders. You do
not need to take any action, and the compliance of your eBay
auctions has not been affected in any way.
We apologize for any inconvenience relating to this change. PayPal
values our customers, and we regret any decline in closing prices
that the deactivation of Bidder Activation Messenger may cause.
Rest assured that PayPal will continue to encourage eBay to allow
our sellers to use the services and features that they prefer,
rather than only the services that eBay provides. We will notify
you if and when Bidder Activation Messenger is reactivated.
