I'm telling ya, this lady is dumber than a box of rocks.

Long story here. Go grab a cup of joe.

In August we took a long-announced long-planned-for two week vacation. I had a backup monitoring incoming e-mail and I checked it myself occasionally. Thought that was pretty well covered.

This person had ordered a bracelet. She got it, promptly broke it, then immediately (during our vacation) started a Square Trade complaint. No e-mail contact with us at all. Well, our refunds policy is simple. We'll refund your money even if stupidity strikes but you have to contact us. I staunchly refuse to deal with Square Trade.

So I return from vacation, she (finally) e-mails me, complains loudly about the bracelet claiming it's not even silver (wrong-o, it's marked Italian silver), claiming it arrived broken (hah), and I said "Fine. Return it and we'll refund your money."

A few days after that, the mailbombing starts.
She always sends 16 copies of whatever vitriol she's spewing. And here's the kicker: she's doing it using eBay's mail system.

Why? Beats the h-e-double-toothpicks outta me! I'm guessing she thinks it's clever or something.

Her refund was issued weeks ago, and honestly I had moved on with my life and blocked her out like a blind date, until she started up again today with the 16 copies of "where's my refund".

I'm documenting this all and sending it off to SafeHarbor. I'm not sanguine about any action resulting from it. What do you think?

Action from SafeHarbor? I don't think you should hold your breath.

Your wacko bidder should get bored soon enough, though, and go play somewhere else.

I dunno. Hope you're right. Not that I'll see any more of her mail; she's firmly ensconced in a mail filter.

It amazes me that she thinks her activity is going to accomplish something. I mean, she's using the Ask a Seller feature from each auction page, which means she's looking at my auctions while she's doing it. (You better BELIEVE Bidder Block is enabled!)

How tough could it be to e-mail me directly?

She probably assumes that you blocked her email or that if she used her own email address you could get her in trouble with her ISP.

How tough could it be to e-mail me directly?

well yeah, but then how hard could it be to just sit back and wait for the refund? ... unless you're a pin or two short of a strike.

If it continues, why not forward her emails to you to SafeHarbor & CC her. Maybe she'll realize she isn't as clever as she thinks she is.
