I live in the UK and have been known to have a few vids in my inventory. I always state in ads that they will be incompatible on US machines [unless machine/tape adapted]. Last couple of days I have receievd a small # of emails from potential US buyers querying this - has something changed I am unaware of? Any info appreciated.

Videos from the U.K. are in PAL format and are incompatible with the U.S. NTSC format machines. Check the tape box for format information.

Thanks Tim, that's what I thought and say so in my auction ads but there must be people out there who think otherwise. I just hope they don't buy my vids then contact me complaining they are not working despite this been specified in ads - I'm sure I'm not the only one this happens to.

Auctions for America appears to be bringing in a greater number of newbies than usual. That could be the reason for larger than normal "basic" inquiries such as this.
I have probably gotten 10-15 messages in the last two weeks asking me if I want to trade something in lieu of a sale. And I normally almost never get those type questions. AFA Newbies was the only thing I could think of.

There are a few (approx. $600.00 USD) VCRs in the US that play MULTIPLE formats, including PAL...I know that Hitachi makes one. So, ya might want to be clear with your potential US bidders as to whether or not they own one of these monsters!
