A4A .... I need more caffeine

Now you can send whatever $$ is in your Half.com account to A4A through Half.com who will generiously donate the 15% they take to A4A. I am seriously considering doing this since my Half.com sales are so dismal that my entire amount owed to me is $4.75 since the first of October. My Half.com sales have never sucked this bad.

My recent half sales are stinky too, but give it to A4A? No way.

My Half.com sales were fantastic before 9-11. The week after 9-11 I didn't have any sales at all. Then things started picking up again but no where near pre 9-11 sales.

Before 9-11 I was making a very comfortable living selling books on Half.com now I don't know what to expect day to day and with Half.com merging with eBay I don't know what the future holds either.

as for A4A I already listed a few A4A auctions on eBay that brought some very nice prices for charity.

I also donated privately through several charities I support however I am not going to give any more at this time due to a recent report I saw in CNN where they said over $86 million dollars was collected for the United Way and yet only $6 million has been distributed. Besides with my income greatly Compromised at this time I can’t afford to give anymore than I already have.

What really concerns me about all this giving people are doing there seems to be no accountability where, when or how this money is being handled.

The report I saw said out of the $6 million dollars that was distributed by the United Way none of the money has gone directly to the Survivors families. It has all gone to various programs. The reporter tried very hard to get answers to where all this money is and why it hasn't got to the people who need it. The person he was interviewing was the local Chairperson of the New York United Way and he kept dancing around the reporters questions.

It has also been reported that other money raised from various events have not been distributed and people are starting to ask where all this money is and no one seems to have a lot of answers.

What was sad about all this there were also families on the show who had lost loved ones and have all kinds of expenses that need to get paid from funeral expenses, mortgages, child care , etc. and they haven't even been contacted by anyone let alone givin any of the money that was collected "for them".

That's funny, because Sept 15-30 was my best 2 week period since I started selling on half.com - deposit just cleared my bank yesterday. 8) Now its slowed back down to "normal" levels - but will have new stock to put up there over the next couple of months, so will hopefully bounce back up again.
