... that the feedback functionality is not working properly?
I just went to one of my completed auction pages to leave my bidder feedback and noticed that I was able to leave feedback without signing in.
Thought that was a little weird, so I went back to the auction page and clicked on the "leave seller feedback" link and saw that I was able to leave myself feedback. I didn't, but could have!
I then chose a random completed auction of someone I did not know, clicked on the "leave bidder feedback" link, and I could have that that person feedback - but didn't.

It certainly appears that way. Oh boy, I hope the bad people aren't reading this tonight. Can you imagine all the unearned negging that can go on!

I did send an e-mail to timesensitive@eBay. Hopefully, someone is reading their e-mails, otherwise this could be a field day!

I too emailed timesensitive and also powersellers. Powersellers USUALLY responses to me very quickly unless they have left for the day.
I can see the threads here tomorrow. "I have 20 unearned negs by someone who had nothing to do with it and ebay won't remove them!"

It seems as though, if you are logged in you can leave feedback for anyone for any transaction? This is unacceptable.

I heard back from timesensitive. This is what they say:
Thank you for taking the time to contact eBay Customer Support and for
bringing this situation to our attention.
Regrettably, we have not been able to reproduce the situation that you
have outlined in your email to us. So that we may look into this
situation further, please contact us with the item number that this has
happened on. Also, what steps did you take (starting with how you
logged onto eBay) to reproduce this situation. We will then try
following these steps and we will take every measure to correct the
situation if necessary.
Again, thank you for bringing this situation to our attention.
NOW, I do not understand why we all can do it and not them.
I sent them a link to this thread, so they know I am not a nut that has been drinking all night long!

Timesensitive is correct.
If you went one step further, you would get the following message:
Item number not valid
Sorry, the item number you entered, XXXXXX, either does not exist or does not apply to a completed transaction between
XXX.com and XXX.com. Please go back and enter a valid item number to leave your transaction-related feedback comment.

I just got another email from timesenitive.
Here it is:
Thank you for writing to eBay. I'd be happy to address your concern in
this matter.
While you are able to bring up the "Leave Feedback about an eBay User"
page by following the instructions you have provided, unless you are
actually involved in the transaction, you will receive the following
message when you attempt to submit the comments:
"Sorry, the item number you entered, [item number here], either does
not exist or does not apply to a completed transaction between [your
user ID] and [member you are attempting to leave feedback for]."
This is the way that the feedback forum has been for sometime. Any
member that is not involved in the actual transaction they are
attempting to leave feedback on will not be able to do so. If you still
feel unsatisfied, feel free to attempt to leave feedback for any
transaction that you are not involved in. You will find that the system
will not allow it.
Thank you for being part of the eBay community.
