I just ended an auction and I had said "Shipping is 5.00 Priority" in the description because I thought that was about what it would cost. I have a scale on the way in the mail.

I went to the post office and it was only 3.95. Should I email the buyer and Paypal them back the 1.05 or just assume that since they paid it it's not a problem? I don't want them to get the package, realize I overcharged, and give me negative feedback.

What do you think?

Christine

I would send a refund pay pal or mail.

I doubt that you will get negged on the overcharge but you ar more likley to get positive if you do refund.

I have had a couple of buyers mention the refund in there feedback to me. which can be a plus.

spock here......

You can't possibly be expected to guess the *exact* amount of shipping for each and every item.

Some items you lose money on shipping, some you gain a little bit. It all evens out in the end. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I refund overcharges of this amount in shipping. Makes the customer feel good about you as a seller & might turn them into a repeat customer.

just drop a dollar bill in the package when you ship it, if you want to refund the difference, and let them know what you did in an email so they don't accidentally pitch it when it arrives!
