I have looked all over the net for information on when is the best time or days to end an auction. Alot of people are charging for this service. I am starting this thread to benefit all of us. I myself have had great luck between monday and thursday..but not much luck on the weekends. The time of day I end auctions is between 8-10pm. All you participation is greatly appreciated.

Well, you should get at least 40 different ideas on this subject!

I like weekends, mostly Saturdays around noon (central) and later evenings about 9 or 10PM (central).

You do have to keep in mind the time zones, as a 2 or 3 hour difference does affect peoples bidding sometimes.

However, with the seemingly ever-growing use of esnipe programs the ending time becomes mute. Plus the growing use of Buy It Now auctions also makes it a little less important.

I can think of at least 50 things that may affect an auctions ending time, but of greater concern to most bidders is how the auction is presented.

Clear picures, an accurate description, a simple TOS and honest shipping charges will do more for an auctions success than when it ends.

If people saw an auction and made the first bid their only bid ending times would not matter.
However I don't do it so I imagine no one else does either.

(but what do I know anyway)

I think it often depends on what you are selling. I sell mostly craft books, and my best selling times are at the beginning of the week. I think because my buyers are often mothers, and children have gone back to school, and weekends are very busy, I rarely get weekend bids. If your auctions are aimed mostly at men though, I would think that weekends would be the best, because that is when they would have more time to look. I find I also have to consider what is on television, some evenings are very low for bids, and I end my auctions earlier on those evenings.

amber: Please e-mail me at [email protected] with your seller ID. My husband wants to bid on one of those decanters and glasses you put up pictures of recently.
