Hello,
I use the rubylane free counters and they seem to be down. Anyone pay for their counters? Are the pay ones down too? Or maybe they just want me to pay too. Thanks for any help.

I pay for the service, and it's down for me right now too; I'm sure they'll be back up soon, their service has been very reliable.

Mine are down also (freebie ones). I really have come to depend on them. Information is great. Really should spring for the fee and support RubyLane in this one.

They are back up now. They had a tape drive problem that required a reboot and apparently the server didn't come back up correctly after. But it is all fixed now. You can see the complete story on the RubyLane Counters board.

Sorry folks, we had a flakey tape drive, rebooted, thought we checked the site out carefully afterwards, but overlooked something. Then we hopped on a train for 2 hours to get back from our hosting facility.
Things are A-OK now. Thanks for your understanding.
Edited to add: this only affected sellers viewing their counters. The display of counters on auction/web pages was fine.

This is such a rare event, I am not surprised it was mentioned here. The counters and charts are invaluable.
I am very careful of incurring more fees but believe me the paid service is worth every penny and more.
When was the last time we found out what went wrong from any of the other people we pay? Another example of how wonderful (and unusual) this company is!
