I just went to my Sellers list on ebay to find links at the top to other sellers A for A listings. This bites big time! Anyone else have their territory invaded. This is the page I send my customers to from my web site. I guess I should change it to my ME page or is it on the one too? I'll check.

From the ebay announcement board
Oh, and this includes our ME pages.
I guess it should be changed to the US page.

***Auction for America Header***

Thousands of eBay members continue to participate in Auction for America, and we wish to continue to do everything we can to promote this worthwhile cause.

Over the past month we have been using our regular inventory of advertising space to promote Auction for America. As we move into the Holiday season we want to ensure that we adequately promote and merchandise our sellers' items. In order to do this we are again using our standard advertising inventory to promote and merchandise items and categories of items.

In order to continue to promote Auction for America, we created a temporary merchandising space above the eBay header. This space will be used to merchandise only Auction for America listings and will be removed when Auction for America ends.

Regards,
eBay

I just noticed that with mine also when I checked. It is also on my Me page.

That kinda sucks.

I know. I don't mind a generic link, but link directly to another sellers listing from my ME page is taking it too far.

This just makes it too easy for the competition.

I just checked an item page and so far they haven't put the links on those yet. I feel so "taken advantage of", after all I created that ME page.

Once A4A is over this "temporary merchandising space" will most likely promote someone else's goodies.

Once stuff like this starts it just never goes away, sort of like taxes.

Pretty soon the pages will be filled with so much crap it will be hard to even see anything.

I wonder if Meg taught grade school in a past life????

Remember when the teacher took the "problem student" and stuck them in the front row so they could keep an eye on them and not miss anything they did?

Seems as if the "problem child" of eBay is front and center now!

By the way.....don't any of you dare put YOUR clickable link on that same page or else!!!!

"adequately promote and merchandise our sellers' items" Where the %#%@$ are they promoting my items? I thought that's what I was supposed to do with my "ME" page. It's not exactly about "ME" anymore is it. I could rant on about this all night, I am just so %@#$#$#%#%!!!!

What can we do about it???

I guess we can list lots of A4A items if we wish to and have the opportunity to intrude on someone else's page.

But probably if we complain anymore about it here, sooner or later someone will come along and slap us all with that wet diaper remark.

Oh, check the links!

It's not just anyone's auctions, but what Ebay considers to be WORTHY auctions.

I'm about ready to just end all my auctions and go down the road. I've been running over a 100 auctions a week for 3 years and this is the thanks I get, a link to someone elses auctions. If Yahoo would go to a final value fee and drop the listing fee I would drop ebay in a heart beat. Thats the thanks they would get from me after this last slap in the face.

I see ONLY two seller IDs being advertised:

pixieduster's Items
thescootaw's Items

Does anyone see anything different?

This also appears at the top of my ebay stores website. Do they expect me to PAY for a store when they're doing these banner ads for other sellers on the top of it?

Those are the same ID's I've been seeing all day.

They have to think of something so that we will list, list and list on AFA. Think again Ebay! It's not working.

On second thought, Ebay, please don't think. It's a scary thought as to what you will think of next!

Possibly the only two left actively listing auctions?

you could cover it up with a layer.

I think as a protest, like it will do any good, i will close my ebay store tonight. I'm cutting out the fat, they are not producing so why give ebay more money.

eBay fees are like being slowly pecked to death by chickens!!!

I edited my ME page today. I used to have the link to my web site where it openned a new window so that surfers can see my web site without leaving ebay. Now it goes directly to my site which effectivly take them away from ebay to my site where I sell everything I sell on ebay and no commission or lising fee's either. I will no longer link my web site to ebay either. About 60% of my traffic comes from ebay and only about 5% of my traffic goes to ebay from my site.
