Still haven't gotten the hang of posting a photo but maybe this will work.
Anyway all I know about these are that the white one is made by Van Brode Co. (marked) and all are made of hard plastic and are about 1 1/2 inches tall. I believe they were some sort of premium(?) in a food product. They are each marked with Argentina, China, American Indian, Early American and Mexico respectively, on the front of the stand but only the white, China one is marked with a manufacturer.
Anyone know anything else about them and how to list them..category..starting price ect? Help would be appreciated. And help with how to post the pic would be really great too!
Thanks

Something seems to be wrong....otherwise you would just put [$image] at the beginning and [$/image] at the end, without the dollar signs.

I am not sure at all, but perhaps Red Rose tea? I know they put little animals in packages as premiums.
Just one idea-- as I said I am not sure at all, but they look neat anyway!
Good luck to you!
Edited to add that if you put refunding premium in your title that might help. I know couponers/refunders sometimes do collect old premiums. :0)

Your figures are from the "People of the World" set made by Van Brode Company. Van Brode was a 1940s or 50s toy company that manufactured plastic toys and cereal premiums, including these 2" smooth coated plastic figures. They represent various nations: West Indies, Burma, Hawaii, Portugal, Italy, etc.
A complete set consisted of 32 pieces. They came white, but many people painted them to look like the country's native costume. Hope this helps.

Thanks brie49. The info is great..however..only the white one (China) is marked van brode. Although the others look like the same style..the plastic is pink not white and their is no "van brode" marking on the back. They are, however, marked with the name of their country on the front. So do you think the pink ones are also just "unmarked" van brode or made from a different country. All of the ones shown on ebay "completed" auctions are white..I could find no pink plastic ones.

Hi krystal, you've got me there. I've never heard of pink ones. Could be a knockoff of the others though. I'm stumped too.
I have a half dozen of the white ones that belonged to my grandmother, she was a knick-knack nut, and I kept them all. Some on display, some stored in drawers. A few years ago I researched some of the items she left, and these white figures were one. That's when I discovered what they were.
