It's funny, just when you think youve got 7 days to watch a stale auction, just the opposite happens. I listed eight old and used 8 track tapes by KISS I paid ten cents each for. Much to my suprise they finished at a respectable $26 with five bids. I browsed some of the feedbacks in the bid history only to realize 8 tracks are alive and well in the world of eBay. The learning never ends with this hobby. Now I ask myself, how many 8 tracks have I passed up in the last year that I could have sold for very good profits?

Not many........like everything else there is only "certain" types that really sell well.I would not go and stock up on them but at the price you paid it was not much of a risk.

wildanteeker is correct. 8-tracks are usually a hard sell - if you can get a good price on them it's attributable to the artist, not the format. KISS is one of the more fanatically collected rock bands out there.
Condition is also very important since so many 8-tracks found at yard sales and thrift stores are in really beat-up condition. On the other hand, sealed 8-tracks can bring big bucks if it's the right artist. The lesson you should learn by this is not "8-tracks are hot" but "KISS stuff is hot."
